Cafè-Concert-Te
Past Features
Throughout the week you will have the chance to become immersed in the sensuality of Argentinean tango at the Forum Site. The Cafè-Concert-Te is presenting a performance by an attractive tango dancer and an expressive soloist that will fill a corner of the Haima with melancholy until Sunday, August 22. While the audience sit back in green velvet chairs, the two artists, accompanied by a pianist, will reveal the poetic and musical identity of Argentina through canzonetas, habaneras and milongas, displaying the mood of a country that is full of contrasts.

It is a luxury to begin the morning or afternoon with tango melodies. It brings a bitter joy. This experienced, complementary couple are able to transmit their powerful art in 25 intense minutes. Followers of the genre should not miss the chance to visit the site and enjoy this display from Argentina.
A través de la Máscara
© Pasqual Gorriz This Cafè-Concert-Te session combines tango with a very different cultural expression: the art of Peruvian masks. Miguel Rubio presents "A través de la máscara" (Through the Mask), a conference-demonstration on the origin of masks in Peru and its modern-day use in the artistic work of Edmundo Torres. Rubio speaks of six different masks, each with a very specific meaning and an age-old tradition.

A dancing skeleton, a mask of exaggerated features, animal skin, a fun balaclava... different faces to represent power, knowledge, protection or pranks. Come to the Forum and take a closer look at the culture of Peruvian masks.
