The current state of construction work

The area where the Forum will be held is beginning to take shape. The basic structures are practically built, and the time has come to do the interior decoration of the buildings and to make a loading test with real audiences.

The assembly of the large metallic sphere for the Opening Ceremony, the covering of the Haima area, the Accreditation Hall, the Convention Center... are some of the focal points on the site at this time. Below we explain their present state in detail.

Move the World (Omkarakala) [ 2 - 3 ]
The foundations are being laid for the structure that will support the sphere. The pillars to support the weight of the 150-ton sphere for the show have been set in place. The pieces for this large metallic structure are due to arrive soon. The control center for the sphere is being assembled, and at the beginning of February the assembly of the sphere, which is due to be completed in a month, will begin. Because of the large size of the structure, thirty-two trailers will be needed to move all the material.

Haima [ 4 - 5 ]
The Haima structure, which will house all the exhibitions on the esplanade, has already been put in place. It is now being covered with fabric before the decor for the exhibitions is mounted. This construction consists of a huge marquee measuring 16,000 square meters, which, besides the exhibitions, will house visual installations, music, dance, markets, games, workshops, food, and public debates.
Accreditation Hall [ 6 ]
The construction of the building that will house the Accreditation Hall has begun. This is where all the personalities and collaborators will go through the accreditation procedure before entering the grounds. The plot of land is being prepared, and the first building is due to be completed in three weeks.

Convention Center [ 7 - 8 - 9 ]
The exhibitions that will be held inside the Convention Center are being mounted: Voices and Cities, Corners. The former will occupy 4,000 square meters and will have a large central element consisting of a semi-sphere measuring 30 meters in diameter and 12 meters in height, and will be made up of 28 screens. The latter displays eight settings that recreate famous street corners as well as models of some great cities.
