| Nuevo León, especially
its capital, Monterrey, is distinguished as a
center of business, congresses and conventions,
as well as hosting exhibitions and major events,
the latter being the segment attracting the majority
of visitors to our state. This is due to its notable
geographical location and proximity to the southern
United States, as well as to the existence of
a well-developed infrastructure and huge premises
equipped with the latest technology for hosting
important events of both national and international
scope.
Several events it has hosted in the past are
the Cumbre Extraordinaria de las Américas
(Extraordinary Summit of the Americas), many top-level
performances and the Grand Prix.

International Business Center, the recently inaugurated
“Arena Monterrey” and “Parque
Fundidora.”
Monterrey, the third largest city in Mexico, also
known as “La Sultana del Norte” (The
Sultana of the North), is, in fact, quite an amazing
city.
Monterrey is much more than just one of the most
important industrial and business center of the
country.
A modern and well-planned city that is easy to
drive through and filled with cultural activities,
Monterrey is inhabited by friendly people who
wish to present their city as the most advanced
in Mexico. Monterrey has a population of four
million inhabitants (including the larger metropolitan
area) and has the highest level of education in
Mexico, being the city with the most schools,
institutes and technical universities per capita
in Mexico.
There are numerous tourist attractions nearby
to meet all tastes, especially for those who seek
vacations complemented by all the amenities associated
with the conveniences offered by a large city.
Quality restaurants, modern shopping centers,
numerous museums and cultural attractions abound
here. The mountains, canyons and desert surrounding
the city offer pleasant diversion and a wide variety
of tourist activities, many of which are not available
anywhere else in Mexico. Some of the best places
to go hiking, mountain biking, spelunking and
generally exploring natural areas are quite close
to the city.
A visit to Monterrey is guaranteed to surprise
even the most experienced traveler. Tourists often
bypass this charming city, opting for coastal
tourist centers and other more popular Mexican
cities. As Monterrey becomes more well-known,
this should begin to change. Tourism has been
gaining ground in recent years, as those who travel
here on business spread information on Monterrey
and even return to spend their family vacations
here. |
