“Peace is too serious a reality to be reserved only for politicians and diplomats”, commented Jordi Vidal, representative of the community of Sant Egidi. One of the voices that have taken part in this offering of poetry, music and song in tribute to Pau Casals, a musician whose very name conveys the idea of peace.

The event has been organized by the group “Poetry in action” (Poesia en acció), a group that strives to use the beauty of the word to create actions with which to improve the world. Rhapsodists, poets and musicians have all taken part in the poetic musical event.

The first poem chosen was Proclama by Martí i Pol. Then the young poetess Maria Sanz read one of her own works “Plou sobre mullat” a reflexion on war as an inevitable travelling companion of humanity. Bertol Brecht has also been recited by the rhapsodist Rafael Barrera who dreams of a world in which the only explosions we hear are those of the fireworks used to celebrate festivals.
