Gonzalo Navajas
Modern literature and Cinema professor at the University of California, Irvine. He combines the tasks of culture theorist, novelist and critic. He has written numerous books on modern literature and literature theory, cinema, architecture and popular culture. Among others “La narrativa española en la era global”, “Más allá de la posmodernidad” and “Teoría y praxis de la novela española posmoderna”. He has published many essays and has been guest lecturer at universities and culture centres in Europe and the USA. He has written three novels: “La última estación” (2001), “Una pregunta más para el amor” (1991) y “De la destrucción de la urbe” (1987). At present, he is working on his next novel, a partially American historic book, and has announced the publication of his next book “La modernidad como crisis. Los clásicos modernos ante el siglo XXI” (Madrid: Biblioteca Nueva).
